Tom was in the financial services industry for 28 years prior to co-founding Core Twelve with Dan in 1998. Tom has an MBA from Columbia University and worked in New York, London and Chicago for Brown Brothers Harriman, Merrill Lynch, Barclays Bank and ABN-Amro. He finds running a boutique creative agency more challenging than a multi-national financial institution but hasn’t looked back. -

Dan has 25 years of experience as a multi-media designer and creative director. Since founding Core Twelve in 1998, he has cultivated a long and diversified list of clients ranging from start-ups to multi-platinum artists and automotive giants. He relentlessly pursues the big idea and is thankful for the talented team that helps him turn sometimes far-fetched visions into reality. -
Justin Brown
COO / Director of Accounts
Justin started out as a Deloitte CPA, but succumbed to one of our earliest marketing campaigns when he joined the agency in 2001. Working together, Justin and Dan strike the right balance of creativity and logic. Justin makes sure no corner is left unturned, deadlines are met, and objectives are achieved. We’re pretty certain this isn’t what he imagined when he got his accounting degree.

We know from first-hand experience what it takes to successfully build a lifestyle brand. Drawing from our extensive experience in the music industry, we founded FRET12 in 2008. Our online presence engages customers all over the world, while our experiential retail shop, located in Chicago's historic Salt Shed concert venue, is immersed in the live music scene.
Through design, activations, and quality products, we capture the essence of guitar and live music culture. The imperfections of hand-drawn graphics and road-worn gear, complemented by the beautiful lines of polished instruments, the scent of a green room, sharing guitar knowledge and skills, promoting talented artists, and the ability to plug in and play with fellow musicians or talk about a show — this defines FRET12.
